- ARC Federation Fellowship - "Islam and Modernity: Syari'ah, Terrorism and Governance in South-east Asia"
- The Australian Research Council's (ARC) Federation Fellowships are innovative and highly prestigious awards designed to develop and retain Australian skills. In 2006, Professor Tim Lindsey was awarded an ARC Federation Fellowship to research "Islam and Modernity: Syari'ah, Terrorism and Governance in South-East Asia". The Fellowship runs for a period of five years (from 1 August 2006 to 1 August 2011).

- the first and largest Australian centre devoted to the development of our understanding of Asian law and legal systems.
- Asian Law Online
- the first and only online bibliographic database of Asian law materials in the world. Provides searchable and browsable collection of English language materials on Asian laws available throughout the world and includes books, chapters in books, journal articles and theses, as well as useful website links.
- National Centre of Excellence for Islamic Studies
- The National Centre of Excellence was established in 2007 with funding from the Australian Government. It aims to advance the knowledge and understanding of the rich traditions and modern complexities of Islam, and to profile Australia's strengths in the field of Islamic studies. The Centre will also assist in developing a national and regional response to needs in research, teaching and community engagement.
